LOUISA VOTAVA was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Exposed at a young age to New York's unique landscape of art and architecture, she quickly developed an early appreciation for the world of design. Over the years she became interested in the art of making things by hand, picking up such skills as sewing, knitting, and woodworking.
Louisa earned a BA in Architecture from Barnard College in 2006. She went on to work in a variety of design disciplines, alongside talented designers including furniture maker Michael Gloor, Interior Designer Patti Watson of Taste Design, architects David Andreozzi of Andreozzi Architects and Nancy Leslie of Leslie Architects, and with the Graphic Design firm Forge Worldwide.
Louisa started VOTAVA DESIGN in 2008, and she enjoys helping her clients navigate the complexities of the design process. She currently lives in Wakefield, RI, where she balances her work with gardening, hiking, sailing, cooking, and travel.
