Louisa started VOTAVA DESIGN in 2008 as a side business with a focus in graphic design. In 2020, after 12 years working in the fields of architecture and interior design, she was excited refocus her attention on VOTAVA DESIGN, expanding the business into a fulltime multidisciplinary design studio. She enjoys working across a variety of design disciplines, and her passion is helping her clients navigate the complexities of the design process.
Louisa was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Exposed at a young age to New York's unique landscape of art and architecture, she quickly developed an early appreciation for the world of design. Over the years she became interested in the art of making things by hand, picking up such skills as sewing, knitting, and woodworking.
Louisa earned a BA in Architecture from Barnard College in 2006. She has gone on to work alongside a variety of talented designers including furniture maker Michael Gloor, Interior Designer Patti Watson of Taste Design, architects David Andreozzi of Andreozzi Architects and Nancy Leslie of Leslie Architects, and with the Graphic Design firm Forge Worldwide.She currently lives in Wakefield, RI, where she balances her work with gardening, hiking, sailing, cooking, and travel.
